Kicking off the Holidays with the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade

Thanksgiving in New York is a special time.  Every year Macy’s launches the festive holiday shopping season with a large balloon parade that floats its way down 6th Avenue to the Herald Square store. Its’s exciting, and fun, and really puts everyone in the mood for the holiday season.  GB, SB, and I made sure to wake up early this day so we could grab some real NY bagels (Again, why do they taste so good?) and catch the parade. The weather was surprisingly warm, which made it an extremely enjoyable event.  It is said that 3.5 million people show up every year to watch.  So the 3 of us stood, squished in with the crowd, to watch the giant balloons float by on Thanksgiving morning. And thankfully this is a balloon parade, or none of us would be able to see a thing.

Happy Thanksgiving 2015
